Ellen was born in May 1994 in a town called Växjö in Sweden. She grew up with her mom, dad and older brother. Ellen has always been of a creative nature. However, she didn’t discover photography until early 2011, when she took her first photography class in high school. She decided to continue on that path and graduated Gamleby School of Photography, with emphasis on Commercial and Fashion Photography, the day she turned 21 (2015). In connection with her graduation from Gamleby School of Photography she received Molanders-Scholarship for her exam work World Wonders.
In August 2014, Ellen moved to New York. During her stay in New York, Ellen had an internship with the photographers Mikael Schulz and Therese Aldgård. She worked with them both as a retoucher and photo assistant. Ellen retouched, among many other things, the photographer’s personal projects and editorials for Harper’s Bazaar (Netherlands), V-Magazine (US), Korean Allure and Grazia (Italy). She stayed with Mikael and Therese in New York throughout the autumn before she got back to Sweden and Stockholm. During the winter, 2014/2015, Ellen had an internship as an assistant/retoucher for the photographer Fredrik Wannerstedt. In september 2015 she started to freelance for Bestseller, a clothing company in Denmark. She made commercial photography work for both ADPT. and Jack & Jones.
